RoleOverview
We are hiring a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join our growing team. You will workacross the full product lifecycle: from early-stage R&D to finalproduct deployment and field testing. The role involves a mix ofmechanical design, system integration, and production coordination —all within the high-impact field of robotics for energyinfrastructure.
This is a hands-on role suited toengineers passionate about building real-world, cutting-edge hardware.You will lead design efforts and mentor others, while working crosscollaboratively with other engineering divisions.
***Please note that the role will involve significant travel andfield-based work to support deployment and operational testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to thedevelopment of mechatronic and robotic systems for outdoor deployment
* Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing ofcomponents, enclosures, and integrated assemblies
* Supportsystem integration involving mechanical, electrical, and embeddedsystems
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams includingelectronics and software engineers
* Engage in field testingand troubleshooting in real-world environments
* Work withmanufacturing partners to support production and assembly readiness
* Lead the design and development of robust, scalable roboticsystems
* Own technical direction from prototype tofield-ready product
* Conduct advanced analysis (e.g. FEA,thermal/vibration testing) and drive certification processes
* Mentor junior team members and review technical work
* Coordinate closely with suppliers and oversee productionreadiness
Key Skills and Experience
Required
* Degree in Mechatronics,Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field
* Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) for3D design and mechanical assemblies
* Familiarity with systemintegration and prototyping using 3D printing, machining, or lasercutting
* Understanding of embedded systems and basicprogramming (C/C++, Python)
* Strong problem-solving skillsand the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment
* 8+ years of experience in product design and development,ideally in robotics or automation
* Deep understanding ofDFM/DFA and production-scale design practices
* Experiencewith ruggedization for outdoor/industrial environments (IP ratings,EMI, etc.)
* Strong track record of leading projects andcross-disciplinary engineering teams
* Direct experience withcertification processes (e.g. CE, UL, IEC)
* Experience with embedded systems(STM32, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
* Understanding of sensors,actuators, and PCB layout
* Exposure to AI/ML in robotics(e.g. vision systems, OpenCV)
* Experience with simulation andanalysis tools (MATLAB, Simulink, FEA)
* Proficient indeveloping and debugging on embedded Linux, preferably NVIDIA Jetsonor similar edge AI hardware.
* Ability to optimise C++/Pythoncode for GPU acceleration (CUDA/OpenCL) to achieve real-time sensorfusion, vision, or control-loop performance.
