The Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our children's home. As the Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the children in our care while managing a team of care staff. You will be instrumental in promoting positive outcomes for children, establishing a positive and empowering environment, and ensuring the care home is compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the children's care home to provide high-quality, nurturing care and support for the children.
* Oversee the daily operations of the care home, including staffing, budgeting, and scheduling.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for children in accordance with their individual needs.
* Ensure the care home meets all regulatory requirements, maintaining compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and health and safety regulations.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Work closely with external agencies (e.g., social workers, health professionals, education providers) to ensure children receive holistic support.
* Maintain detailed records of children's progress, incidents, and activities in line with safeguarding requirements.
* Foster positive relationships with children and encourage them to reach their full potential.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure staff members are trained and equipped to carry out their roles effectively.
* Ensure a strong safeguarding culture is embedded within the team and that any concerns are addressed promptly.
* Prepare reports for management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure the care home's environment is safe, clean, and conducive to the well-being of the children.
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience managing a children's care home or similar environment is essential.
* A strong understanding of child safeguarding and relevant legislation.
* Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Experience in care planning, risk assessments, and supporting children with complex needs.
* A passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and making a difference in their development.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Knowledge of Ofsted inspections and the ability to ensure compliance with standards.
* A level 5 diploma in leadership for health and social care (Children and Young People) or equivalent is preferred, but not essential.
