Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist

Responsibilities include:
1. Providing psychological assessments of clients referred to the psychology service, utilizing complex data from various sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews with clients, family, and others involved in care.
2. Developing psychological formulations of presenting problems, integrating information from assessments within a coherent framework based on psychological theory and evidence, considering interpersonal, societal, cultural, and biological factors.
3. Developing and implementing treatment plans for clients' mental health problems, employing evidence-based methods across different care settings.
4. Implementing psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting formulations and hypotheses as needed.
5. Evaluating treatment options, considering complex factors related to clients' developmental and historical backgrounds.
6. Exercising autonomous responsibility for assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients, managing caseloads according to service guidelines.
7. Providing psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals to aid in formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
8. Contributing to a psychologically informed framework of understanding and care across all service settings and agencies.
9. Undertaking risk assessments and management, providing advice on psychological aspects of risk to other professions.
10. Communicating effectively and sensitively with clients, families, and others about assessment and treatment plans, including delivering difficult information.
