SEO Specialist - Stoneacre Motor Group

About the Role
Stoneacre Motor Group is looking for an ambitious SEO Specialist to join our in-house Digital Marketing Team at our Head Office in Thorne, Doncaster.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact across multiple automotive brands and shape the digital presence of one of the UK's leading motor groups.
What Makes This Role Unique
You’ll become the digital guardian of specific automotive manufacturers across our extensive dealership network.
Think of yourself as a brand specialist who happens to be an SEO expert – you'll develop deep product knowledge of your assigned manufacturers, gaining an understanding that leads to effective marketing of their products and services.
This isn't just about rankings and traffic. You'll own the complete digital ecosystem for your brands, including keeping manufacturer-specific Google Business Listings accurate and optimised across our locations.
Your work will directly influence how thousands of potential customers discover and engage with these brands online.
Additionally, you’ll cross over to supporting sections of the Stoneacre website, such as Car Finance, Aftersales, and further resources.
Your Core Responsibilities
Strategic SEO Management
1. Develop and execute tailored SEO strategies for each of your assigned manufacturer brands
2. Conduct comprehensive keyword research that reflects how real customers search for vehicles and related services
3. Perform detailed website audits to identify opportunities for growth and areas needing attention
4. Optimise landing pages, improve conversion rates, and enhance content quality across all touchpoints
5. Look for opportunities to build external links from strong, relevant websites
Brand Ownership
6. Become the go-to expert for your assigned automotive manufacturers
7. Build genuine product knowledge that informs smarter SEO decisions
8. Maintain and optimise Google Business Listings for your specific brands across Stoneacre dealership locations
9. Ensure consistency in how each manufacturer is represented to ensure manufacturer audits are passed
Content & Technical Excellence
10. Create compelling content that meets customer intent and expectations, whilst also adhering to Google standards
11. Collaborate with the team’s in-house Copywriter on Blogging projects for additional content that bolsters your manufacturers’ presence on the Stoneacre website
12. Consider the complete user journey – from device types and audience segments to technical site setup
13. Utilise the team’s SEO tools to ensure the Stoneacre website is performing well from a technical standpoint
AI-Enhanced SEO & Modern Search
14. Understand how AI is reshaping search, including Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) and AI Overviews
15. Optimise content for featured snippets, People Also Ask sections, and AI-generated answer boxes
16. Leverage AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity in keyword research, content ideation, and data analysis
17. Maintain the critical balance between AI efficiency and authentic, experience-driven content that Google's E-E-A-T guidelines demand
18. Stay ahead of how AI-powered search engines are changing user behaviour and search intent
19. Recognise that while AI can assist with research and ideation, human expertise and brand knowledge remain irreplaceable
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
20. Produce clear, insightful reports to showcase your strategy, as well as the impact of your work
21. Work directly with stakeholders to understand business priorities and align SEO strategies accordingly
22. Present your ideas confidently and communicate complex concepts in an accessible way
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
23. At least 1 year working in SEO, either at a digital agency or in-house
24. A proven track record of improving organic search visibility over time
25. Practical experience with SEO tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, as well as SEMrush or a similar platform

26. Analytically minded with a love for data-driven decision making
27. A self-starter who can work independently but thrives in collaborative environments
28. Naturally curious – you stay current with SEO trends and algorithm updates through your own initiative
29. Ethical approach – you understand ‘black hat’ techniques but only implement strategies that comply with Google's guidelines
AI Awareness & Adaptability
30. Understanding of how AI is impacting SEO and search behaviour (we don't expect you to be an AI expert, but awareness is important)
31. Comfortable using AI tools to work more efficiently while maintaining quality and authenticity
32. Critical thinking skills to know when to use AI assistance and when human expertise is essential
33. Awareness that AI-generated content alone won't cut it – you understand the importance of genuine expertise, experience, and brand-specific knowledge
Desirable (But Not Essential)
34. Experience in a B2C environment
35. Knowledge of the automotive industry or have a genuine interest in cars
36. Marketing qualifications
37. Experience working alongside website developers
38. An eye for good UX – you can spot what works and what doesn't from a user's perspective
