£50,562 - £53,482 / £27.71 - £29.31 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to the post of Improvement and Reviewing Officer. The role of Improvement and Reviewing Officer is a fundamental role within the management structure within OHAC.
The role will require independent and autonomous practice, with the ability to ensure multi-agency partners are fulfilling their roles and responsible with regard to the care, support and protection of vulnerable members of the community.
The role will have a dual focus, encompassing responsibilities for the chairing of service users initially and review protection planning meetings / conferences. The role will also include responsibilities for leading on improvement work within OHAC.

We are seeking someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills who has the ability to manage change and contribute to policy development. You will demonstrate an ability to establish positive relationships with our partner agencies and be able to maintain them for the benefit of the children of Orkney. Significant and relevant experience as a Social Worker with children and young people and child protection practice is essential.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational needs of the service.
