Job Overview
Mitie Security requires an experienced gatehouse security officer to assist with the running of our client’s site based in Livingston. The role protects the customer's property, people, and assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes. It delivers results that meet or exceed the key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer, and includes ongoing training for continuous self‑development.
Main Duties
* Ensure compliance with all policies, legal, and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and UK law.
* Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined in the Assignment Instructions.
* Review and suggest amendments to the Assignment Instructions to improve service quality.
* Maintain front‑line licences (Security Guarding or Door Supervision) and CCTV PSS SIA Licence at all times.
* Meet all legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work systematically and methodically.
* Complete required competency training and renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge.
* Report Health & Safety hazards immediately and record incidents accurately.
* Remain alert to threats and take appropriate action to reduce disruptions.
* Maintain professional conduct with customers, even in difficult situations.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are performed at allocated times as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Qualifications
* Previous security experience.
* SIA licence.
