TEHAS Family Support Workers screen referrals into the Targeted Early Help service to assess need and risk in families within a three working-day timescale using the LBBD Multi-Agency Threshold of Need document to ensure that children and families receive the appropriate level of support without delay. They provide telephone consultation, timely advice and guidance to partners and families to help families build capacity, resilience, and independence, so that they can have the best start or are able to overcome issues before they become so serious that specialist or statutory services are needed. Family support workers recommend outcome based, child focussed interventions for the Locality teams informed by the screening process, to meet families’ assessed needs and contribute to improving outcomes for children ( 0-19 years) and families within Barking and Dagenham, ensuring children’s safeguarding and welfare is at the heart of all screening completed. in Barking and Dagenham. Special requirements for this post
TEHAS are looking for someone who is dynamic, hardworking and has experience providing support to different stakeholders within a social care setting. It is essential that you have experience using the multi-agency threshold document. We need someone who is able to work under pressure, challenge decisions and are able to work as part of a team under tight timescales. It is important that you are able to record data accurately and are familiar with using different IT recording systems. If you are looking for a new and challenging role this may be the role for you.
About you
In TEHAS we screen roughly 200 referral a month and have tight timescales in which we work. This does not include other tasks such as phone consultation, relational phone and face to face work.
