After previously being graded Good in 2019, Sharples was judged as significantly improved in all areas at its last inspection in January 2025. Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding and self- motivated individual to join our team of Pastoral staff. The successful candidate will assist in tackling underachievement by working in partnership with families, parents, carers, Local Authorities and pupils on roll at Sharples School, to enable pupils to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning and participation. The role will include monitoring attendance, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Local Authorities to support parents and carers in ensuring their children attend school on time every day and working with other professionals, if there are other concerns, and attending meetings based on a plan to support the child and family. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the induction of new pupils to the school.
