Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for Band 5 Dietitian to join The Community Adult Eating Disorders Service.

Due to the fixed-term nature of the post, applications are welcomed from registered dietitians with an active HCPC registration, to support timely service delivery.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is able to work with the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT), with our partners in Acute Trusts, and other important stakeholders.

The aim of our Specialist Eating Disorders Team is to provide non-judgmental timely support for adults and their families who may require specialist support to recover from an eating disorder, so they can build confidence enabling them to live their lives.

The service also embraces a culture of service user participation.

Wellbeing of colleagues and working collaboratively is essential as we see this as an important aspect to keeping our staff happy at work.

This post provides an opportunity to work as part of a broader and supportive team of Dietitians working within a specialist mental health and learning disabilities NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

Promotes and maintains safety, privacy, and dignity of all service user in the delivery of person-centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.

Undertakes dietetic assessments and develops dietary care plans ., identify and manage dietary intake for service users at risk of re-feeding syndrome.

Responsible for ensuring the highest professional standards and attitudes towards the care of service users are always maintained and that care is delivered in accordance with Guidelines, Access and Waiting Time Standards, and the Trust's Values and behaviours by all members of the team.

Assesses service user, including those with complex needs and develops, implements, and evaluates intervention plans as part of the MDT.

Provides updates and reports on service user progress at clinical meetings and makes recommendations to inform the clinical decision-making process regarding service user care as part of the MDT.

Maintain up to date knowledge and competency in the skills required to perform safely and effectively in the role. Undertake relevant training (including statutory and mandatory training) and be responsible for personal development agreed with the line manager and in line with the requirements of the AFC Knowledge and Skills Framework.

Our Dietetic Team is the largest and most established Specialist Mental Health/LD dietetic team in the UK and has strong links with the British Dietetic Association. We have a robust clinical and management supervision structure and support and promote continued professional training and development.

  • Appropriate professional qualification in dietetic role or pending
  • Current relevant registration with HCPC or pending
