Overview
London Borough of Harrow is looking for a Team Manager (Maternity Cover) to join the Adults & Public Health Services Directorate and provide day to day management of the Safeguarding Adults (Social Work) Team. This entails the full range of staff supervisory tasks, including oversight of the threshold decisions being taken in the Team, allocation and assignment of work/cases/enquiries, ensuring the maintenance of accurate records as well as adherence to statutory requirements, good practice standards, administrative and financial guidelines and procedures in the context of Council policies.
The postholder must also ensure the delivery of a timely, appropriate and effective response within the London multi-agency Policy and Procedures framework to all concerns about abuse of vulnerable adults at risk of significant harm.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Extensive working knowledge of the legislation/policies that relate to the safeguarding adults' agenda i.e. Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards; Care Act - to a level that enables clear guidance to be given to staff.
* Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
* Significant experience in carrying out and/or overseeing safeguarding adults' enquiries.
* Experience of chairing Strategy Meetings/Case Conferences.
* Relevant professional qualifications e.g. CSS, CQSW, DipSW.
* Ability to deal with complex issues appropriately e.g. oversee several ongoing enquiries running concurrently.
* Ability to work occasional unsocial hours.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
