Salary: Circa £48,700 + Overtime + Annual Profit-Related Bonus
Are you an Electrical, Mechanical or Multi Skilled Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement? We are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical / Electrical Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team. You’ll be driven to fault-find, read and act on data, perform planned and preventative maintenance, and work on equipment from bulk handling systems to processing, packaging and site services.
The Recipe
Our Multi Skilled Engineers work in shift teams with production, safety and hygiene. They undertake planned and preventative maintenance, develop robust solutions and long-term fixes, and contribute to improving plant reliability and problem diagnosis. The environment is a highly automated 24/7 food manufacturing site offering opportunities to develop technical skills and participate in safety-driven initiatives.
The Role
The team collaborates with production, safety and hygiene to perform maintenance and drive continuous improvement in maintenance activities and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all engineering activities are compliant with internal and external standards including Health & Safety legislation; identify actions to maintain a healthy, safe and accident-free area.
* Execute fault finding and maintenance through RCM and CBM activities; drive improvements in asset reliability and reduction in losses.
* Adhere to site-specific machinery procedures to ensure safe and efficient asset maintenance; contribute to continuous operational performance improvements.
* Drive a proactive Engineering Continuous Improvement culture; contribute to maintenance activities and standard operating procedures.
* Ensure compliance with quality and food safety legislation and company standards to meet professional and legal requirements.
Essential Qualifications
* Ability to work a 4 on 4 off days-only shift pattern.
* Engineering qualification such as Apprenticeship, HNC, BTECH or equivalent.
* Knowledge and experience of electrical and/or mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate problems and identify effective solutions.
* Health & Safety and legislation knowledge (e.g., PUWER, IOSH) to ensure a safe working environment.
