Offer description

As an Assembly Technician, do you want to be more than just "the panel person"?
Here as Assembly Technician you have chance to get involved in wider projects, support other departments and build a career path, not just repeat the same task every day.
If that matters to you, this Assembly Technician role is worth a closer look.
This is a business of around 45 people, part of a global group, with a new Managing Director and a renewed focus on how things are done. There is stability here, but also momentum. The role exists because someone is retiring, and with that comes something you do not often see anymore. A genuine desire to pass on knowledge before it disappears.
As an Assembly Technician, the heart of the job is panel fitting. Control panels, switchgear, electronic modules, and PCBs. You will be reading schematic drawings, assembling, wiring, testing, and fault finding. It is hands on, methodical work, but it also needs someone who can think beyond the drawing when something does not quite line up.
You will be working as an Assembly Technician within a team of six experienced people, alongside a small group of contractors. There is a strong sense of camaraderie here. People help each other out. Knowledge is shared, not guarded. The atmosphere is calm, supportive and quietly proud of the work that goes out of the door.
This Assembly Technician role suits someone who is a completer finisher. You take pride in neat work. You like understanding how things work both electrically and mechanically. You are comfortable reading schematics and wiring diagrams, and you bring a mix of electrical and mechanical knowledge to the bench.
You are an assembly technician who doesn't just check your work is switched on and working but knows its built right...wired neatly, tested properly... signed off knowing it will stand the test of time.
If you can hit the ground running at the top end of the salary, great. If you have solid foundations and can do elements of the job but want to develop further, that is welcomed too. There is a real willingness here to train, as long as you already have some relevant experience and understanding.
You will ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in an electrical or engineering discipline.
One of the best things about this Assembly Technician role is that you are not pigeonholed. you can get involved in other areas, support different departments, and contribute to wider projects. People want to pass on what they know, and there is a genuine career path available if you want it.
The hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm, which makes a big difference to life outside of work.
You will also get as Assembly Technician:
A salary of between 30-34k, if you are coming in and can hit the ground running then you will be rewarded, if you need that training and development they will invest in you, but you need to invest in them
25 days holiday plus statutory holidays
Standard pension
Flexibility where it matters
Overtime available at 1.33 and 1.5
If you are an Assembly Technician who enjoys proper engineering work, values teamwork, and wants to be part of a business that cares about doing things the right way, this could be a very good fit.
This role is exclusive to Marshall Harmony, you won't be contacted by any third parties. If you'd like more info or want to talk it through, just drop us a message, tag someone who'd be perfect for this below or send your CV to the email above.
