About The Role
We are growing our electrical division to meet the ever-increasing needs of our expanding business. To help us achieve this, we are looking for an Electrical Supervisor to work within our team in the Bedford and Great Yarmouth area.
You will be responsible for planning, organising, and prioritising the day-to-day electrical support services while getting hands-on with electrical pump installations.
As an Electrical Supervisor, you’ll get to:
* Line manage qualified mobile electricians and an apprentice electrician in training. The team size varies by area but typically consists of 6-8 members.
* Support the Electrical Manager in recruiting competent team members, ensuring proper induction and role readiness.
* Proactively manage absence and performance, set SMART objectives aligned with department goals, conduct performance reviews, and address underperformance promptly.
* Ensure Electrical Apprentices receive necessary training and mentoring to complete their Apprenticeship successfully.
* Assist with calibration of electrical test equipment and uphold quality standards in electrical maintenance and site installations.
* Ensure electrical test certificates are completed accurately and timely, meeting BS7671 standards.
* Oversee installations and testing to ensure compliance with IEE regulations and standards.
* Maintain effective communication with managers, hire desk, and support managers to maximize equipment availability and resolve issues promptly.
* Communicate important updates through meetings, briefings, and Toolbox Talks, including safety bulletins, company news, and recognition.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience managing an electrical function in a supervisory role, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
* Experience in construction or utilities is preferred.
* ECS Gold card with Installation or Maintenance Electrician qualification.
* Good understanding of electrical health and safety regulations.
* SSSTS and CSCS card are preferable; IOSH Managing Safely certification is a plus.
* Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Ability to motivate and develop a team through training and coaching, with effective feedback skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing work and resources efficiently.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive attitude.
* Full driving license (no more than 6 points) and willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.
This role is subject to a safety-critical medical examination.
