What will this role achieve?
As a Relief Wrapping Machine Operator your main responsibility is to work as part of a team in the packing and feeding of biscuits in line with site requirements. When required, you will stand in as a Wrapping Machine Operator. Wrapping Machine Operators are accountable for product and process delivery.
The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team. Must want to progress within your team as you will be trained to step into the permanent role when needed. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.
What will be your key deliverables?
1. Manually pack products within specifications (includes bending, lifting, stretching)
2. Visually check for foreign matter / hazards
3. Ensure quality of biscuits being packed is within product specifications
4. Ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards.
5. Work to a high standard, enabling plants to achieve planned output.
6. Report any problems to ATM/Supervisor
7. Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.
8. Support the Supervisors in the introduction and support of any improvement initiatives.
9. Provide a co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line.
Wrapping Machine Operator responsibilities
10. Carry out all pre-start checks
11. Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification for start of shift and throughout
12. Understand equipment and machinery set up
13. Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure Ensure any re-work procedures are followed
14. Ensure product is to correct quality and specification, make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistency
15. Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard
16. Always maintain everyday factory standards safely
17. Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda
18. Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required
19. Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance
20. Ensure team understand the planning of their daily tasks
21. Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issues

27. Be able to multi-task and have the drive and tenacity to work under your own initiative
28. Positive attitude and willingness to drive change within operational environment
Desirable
29. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given.
30. Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of work
31. Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)
