Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Exercise Placement Lead. Based in Australia. Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours a week). Duration: Continuing. Remuneration: $127k - $178k base (+17% super and leave loading). Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position. Location: Kensington, Sydney.
The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is expanding to support education agendas across four health professional education programs, aiming to shape the future health workforce in Australia and beyond.
Role purpose
The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in exercise science / exercise physiology (clinical education) will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program. The Education Focused (EF) role enables an academic to specialise in education, delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of students.
Key responsibilities
* Drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
* Lead experiential learning activities and manage clinical placements for the exercise science and exercise physiology programs.
Qualifications and experience
* Level B: A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience; Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist; knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to exercise science and exercise physiology; ability to deliver appropriate client care; active engagement in professional development; experience with practicum/placement requirements; demonstrated teaching effectiveness and evidence of curriculum design; knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning (desirable); strong interpersonal and organisational skills; commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
* Level C (in addition to Level B): Advanced clinical knowledge and excellence in client-centred care; evidence of teaching practice development and leadership for inclusive learning culture; demonstrated success in curriculum development and improvement.
