Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy team within the Pharmacy department. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our administrative team to provide secretarial support. This post will be full time Monday to Friday and worked on flexi time (which can be explained further to the successful candidate). This will be working within the Pharmacy Team based at North Tyneside General Hospital. The successful candidates may be required to work elsewhere in the Trust. We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. We care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities. High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do.
Responsibilities
* Provide secretarial support to the Chief Pharmacist/Clinical Director for Medicines Management, deputies and the Pharmacy Senior Management Team to maintain effective administrative systems and enable the efficient running of the department.
* Arrange meetings and activities, comparing a range of options and handling complex scheduling needs.
* Provide and maintain a high quality administrative and secretarial service, ensuring the office is organised, efficient and accountable to support patient care delivery.
* Be a point of contact for patients and other users of Pharmacy Services who may wish to speak to the Chief Pharmacist/Clinical Director for Medicines Management or members of the Pharmacy Senior Management Team.
* Assist the Chief Pharmacist/Clinical Director for Medicines Management and the Pharmacy Senior Management Team in monitoring sickness absence, annual leave, special leave, lieu time and study leave of pharmacy staff.
* Support reasonable adjustments and interview arrangements as required (refer to equality and inclusion policies).
Qualifications and Requirements
* Essential criteria will be used in interviews; candidates meeting the essential criteria will be interviewed under the Trust's interview guarantee scheme.
* Applicants who are members of the Armed Forces, or who have a disability requiring workplace support, will be interviewed under the Trust’s two-ticks/guaranteed interview scheme if they meet the essential criteria.
* Applicants who meet the Fit and Proper Person Requirements (FPPR) will require additional pre-employment checks in line with CQC and NHS England statutory guidance.
