Are you a caring and confident Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference? A welcoming primary school in Sedgefield is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with a visual impairment, helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom.

The Role
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with a visual impairment
Help adapt learning activities to ensure the pupil can fully access the curriculum
Support the child’s engagement, confidence and independence in the classroom
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning goals
Assist with classroom preparation and resources where needed
We’re Looking For
Experience working with children in a school setting (SEND experience desirable)
Confidence supporting a child’s learning on a 1:1 basis
A patient, caring and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience with visual impairments is not essential, but a willingness to learn and support the pupil’s needs is important

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
