Based in Redditch - easily commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Worcester, Kidderminster, Stratford-upon-Avon, Solihull, Evesham and surrounding areas
Circa £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + competitive benefits package
Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their aerospace production team. This is a key role focused on optimising current processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the successful industrialisation of New Product Introductions (NPI).
You'll collaborate with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams to maintain stable, capable, and efficient processes that meet the exacting standards of the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse and improve manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and industrial engineering techniques such as kaizen, line balancing, and value stream mapping.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting quality, productivity, and Right First Time (RFT) outcomes.
Drive the industrialisation of NPI, including tooling, work instructions, and validation plans.
Apply APQP and PPAP methodologies to ensure process and product readiness.
Lead structured problem-solving using RCA, 8D, and DMAIC methods.
Define and maintain robust process controls, routings, and SOPs.
Develop and validate manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and measurement systems.
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, customer-specific).
Provide technical training to production teams and monitor KPIs to drive improvements.About You
Degree/HND in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace or similar discipline.
5+ years' experience in aerospace, defence, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments (forging, machining, fabrication desirable).
Strong knowledge of process capability (Cp, Cpk) and SPC tools.
Proven track record in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and structured problem-solving.
Skilled in interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing methods.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer-facing skills.Desirable: Chartered/Professional Engineer status, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ERP knowledge, and exposure to special processes (e.g., forging, heat treatment, machining).
