Electrical Supervisor – New Build Projects (M&E Installations) Location: Central Scotland / Glasgow Employment Type: Permanent Salary: £51,200 Our client, a respected M&E contractor with a strong track record in delivering complex building services installations, is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join their project delivery team. This is a site-based, project-focused role overseeing large-scale new build installations, including schools, hospitals, and other major developments. This position is not suited to reactive or maintenance electricians – it is an opportunity for a qualified and experienced installation professional to take responsibility for the supervision and coordination of substantial electrical packages within a structured project environment. Role Overview The Electrical Supervisor will oversee all electrical installation activities on site, ensuring work is completed safely, to specification, and in line with programme requirements. You will coordinate site operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining quality and compliance across all project stages. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate electrical installation teams on new build projects. * Ensure works are delivered in line with design drawings, specifications, and safety standards. * Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other trades to maintain progress and quality. * Conduct regular inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings. * Monitor progress against programme and report on site performance. * Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes. * Ensure all electrical work complies with current regulations and company quality procedures. Candidate Requirements * Fully qualified Electrician with relevant industry certifications (e.g. ECS/JIB Gold Card, 18th Edition). * Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor or Lead Electrician on large new build projects. * Strong understanding of M&E packages within construction environments (schools, hospitals, public sector builds). * Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a strong focus on safety and quality. * Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. * SSSTS or SMSTS certification (desirable). * Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent) advantageous.
