We are seeking a committed, resilient and passionate Unqualified Teacher to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wandsworth, supporting pupils with a range of SEN and behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is ready to take the next step into teaching. The successful candidate will receive full training and development to work towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This role is ideal for an experienced SEN TA, HLTA, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Mentor, Pastoral Officer, or someone with significant experience supporting challenging behaviour and additional needs. Key Responsibilities Support and lead learning for pupils with a range of SEN, SEMH, behavioural and communication needs within a PRU environment. Work closely with qualified teachers to deliver structured sessions tailored to individual pupils and small groups. Implement behaviour regulation and de-escalation strategies confidently and safely. Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma, exclusion or disengagement. Adapt learning materials and approaches to ensure access and progress for all pupils. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SENCOs and pastoral teams. Track progress, record behaviour data and contribute to reviews and interventions. Participate in CPD, training and the QTS development pathway. Requirements Experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour (essential). A calm, patient, resilient and supportive approach. Strong communication, relationship-building and behaviour management skills. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people. Willingness to work toward QTS and engage in training and mentoring. Ability to work effectively within a specialist, high-support environment.
