We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join the team at The Huntsman in the heart of Brockenhurst, New Forest.
The Huntsman is a busy, food-led pub with rooms, known for quality seasonal dishes, strong grill offering, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a fantastic team, great kitchen, and exciting plans ahead, this is a brilliant opportunity for a Sous Chef ready to step up and make their mark.

The Role:
7. Support the Head Chef in running the kitchen day-to-day
8. Lead the team and service in the Head Chef’s absence
9. Maintain high food standards and consistency
10. Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
11. Manage stock, GP, and kitchen compliance

What we look for in a Sous Chef:
We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves as a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Sous Chef you will:
26. Have experience championing excellent service through quality food
27. Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
28. Be an active hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills
29. Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times
30. Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
31. Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and labour
32. Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams
