Join Barclays as a Solution Architect, where you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions to complex business problems. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, creating solutions that balance technology risks against business delivery, and driving consistency across processes and technology frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements using modern software engineering practices and automation tools.
2. Apply workload placement strategies and maximize cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
3. Ensure designs incorporate security principles like defense in depth and meet resiliency standards.
4. Balance risks and controls to deliver value.
5. Adopt standard solutions or contribute to their evolution when no standard fits.
6. Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues.
7. Assess the impact of solutions in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, including ongoing operational costs.
8. Develop architecture artifacts for governance compliance, including design, privacy, and security records.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience in solution architecture and technology design for core programs.
* Strong understanding of architecture governance frameworks (CTO, CSO, CDO).
* Excellent relationship management with project teams and stakeholders.
* Knowledge of project methodologies, vendor evaluation, planning, and risk management.
* Ability to analyze data, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders.
