St Andrew's House Medical Centre (Stalybridge) is seeking a salaried GP to deliver a 4‑session per week, 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Sessions run Tuesday and Friday, each lasting 4 hours and 10 minutes.
Responsibilities
* Provide face‑to‑face, telephone, video and photo consultations, as well as home visits and nursing home rounds.
* Assess patient health needs, screen for risk factors, and develop care plans in line with disease‑management protocols.
* Deliver counselling and health education during consultations.
* Make clinical referrals and manage own referrals to other care providers.
* Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Collect audit data and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Prescribe and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions using EMIS Web.
* Use Docman to view, file and act on document tasks.
* Assist the team with advisory queries from nurses, ANPs, HCA and GP registrars when required.
Working Hours and Location
Four 4h10m sessions per week (Tuesday and Friday). Location: 2 Waterloo Road, Stalybridge, SK15 2AU.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
* Inclusion on the NHS England performers list.
* Vocational training certificate or equivalent.
* Full membership of a medical defence union.
* Annual appraisal and revalidation completed.
* Current Hepatitis B immunity.
* Basic life support certification.
* UK work permit if required.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Experience and Skills
* Triage and face‑to‑face consultation experience.
* Chronic disease management and clinical governance.
* Delivery of QOF targets.
* Basic computer literacy, EMIS Web usage, and record keeping.
* Good telephone manner, clear speech, communication and listening skills.
* Ability to work in a multi‑professional team.
Desirable
* Knowledge of EMIS software.
