Role and Scope
The Operations and Maintenance Engineer will support the Manager of Operations and Maintenance in delivering services for Ameresco’s clients across the UK.
Responsibilities
* Safety Compliance: Ensure safety is the highest priority, follow safety protocols during all activities, verify emergency shutdown procedures, grounding, and protective measures.
* Support the Project: Provide oversight, input, and expertise throughout all project stages, including design, testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
* Documentation: Create and review commissioning reports, record test results, document modifications, draft and approve RAMS, and compile detailed post-activity reports.
* System Testing and Verification: Oversee and supervise testing activities to verify system functionality, especially in electro-mechanical systems.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, with experience in plant hazards, risks, and management strategies.
* Effective communication skills at all levels, self-motivated, organized, and solutions-oriented.
* Proficient in engineering IT systems, including work and asset management, metering, and building management systems.
Qualifications
* HND/HNC or equivalent in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations and maintenance within industrial and commercial sectors.
* Experience negotiating with equipment suppliers and contractors.
* Legal right to work in the UK is mandatory.
