A specialist secondary school in Gateshead is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged 11–16 with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role would suit candidates who are passionate about making a positive difference and helping young people achieve both academically and personally. Duties: Supporting pupils within lessons Delivering targeted interventions Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement Supporting emotional regulation strategies Working alongside teaching staff and external professionals Assisting with educational visits and enrichment activities Working Hours: Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm Wednesday: 8:30am – 3:45pm Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm Friday: 8:30am – 3:15pm Requirements: Experience working with children or young people SEND experience desirable Strong communication skills Full-time availability Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
