Summary of the role
The Maintenance Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the ongoing functionality and reliability of machinery, equipment, and facilities within the organisation. This position involves conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency. The Maintenance Engineer also collaborates with various departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions. Additionally, this role involves supporting the operation with factory shutdowns and schedules, documenting maintenance activities, and identifying opportunities for process and equipment improvements while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Maintaining factory efficiency and reliability Carry out routine maintenance tasks Reactive maintenance, fault finding and repair. (electrical and mechanical) Problem analysis Continuous improvement initiatives Facility Maintenance Support Contractors Dealing with suppliers and support when required Schedule and organise tasks. Respond to emergency breakdown call outs as required Factory start up
Education and Experience
Completed a recognized apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical field Level 3 engineering qualification Multi-skilled Engineer Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar environment Experience of working in a 24 hour manufacturing company ATEX/COMPEX environment knowledge (Desirable)
Competencies
Competent in use of Microsoft suite Preferably used an ERP for PR/PO generation Good communication skills both verbal and written Good attention to detail Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and motor control circuitry. Team player A good balance of 50/50 electrical and mechanical.
