We are recruiting on behalf of a leading privately owned Building Services Consultancy. They have a permanent vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer based within their Nottingham office.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide technical support and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team consisting of Building Services Designers, Revit Technicians, Building Physicists, and Document Controllers. You will be involved in a wide range of projects across various market sectors, delivering services from feasibility through to detailed and fully coordinated design for installation purposes (RIBA stages 0 to 5).

2. Proficiency with relevant industry design software.
3. Good time management and organisational skills with a flexible attitude.
4. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
5. Experience in delivering coordinated designs alongside colleagues from other disciplines.
6. Up-to-date knowledge of current industry regulatory and design standards.
7. Skills in supervising and mentoring junior engineering staff and apprentices.
8. The ability to assist with setting design strategies.
9. Experience in QA documents, design, and drawings prior to issue.
10. Professional liaison skills with clients, professional teams, contractors, and staff at all levels.
11. Experience in leading small mixed-discipline teams to deliver projects.
12. The ability to attend client, design team, and project meetings.
13. Skills in undertaking feasibility studies and surveys.
14. Experience in preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections.
15. Proficiency in producing detailed mechanical services designs.
16. Experience in reviewing sub-contractor design drawings and technical submissions.
17. Skills in undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and preparing associated reports.
18. Knowledge of using industry design guides, British Standards, and Building Regulations.
