The Strategic Procurement Manager Non Medical will be a vital member of the NMBC Senior Management team, managing a team of staff responsible for the procurement of all Non - Medical Contracts for the Royal Wolverhampton & Walsall Healthcare Trusts reporting in to the Head of Strategic Procurement - Non Medical.

This post will be integral in supporting the Department in the delivery of all strategic objectives of all Trusts represented. Support the Departments national / regional obligations and the implementation of the local Procurement strategy to meet the needs of the host Trust's, customer base requirements, maximise value for money, minimising operational / commercial risk whilst ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law and the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.

The North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is comprised of The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (WHT), The Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHFT), Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU).

The NMBC is responsible for all aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain and wider Commercial support to the aforementioned organisations covering a range of Acute, Mental Health, Community, Pathology Networks, GP Practices and Commissioning Support Units across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Black Country, Shropshire and South Cheshire Integrated Care System (ICS's). With almost 200 staff, 55,000 users and managing a total non-pay spend portfolio of over £1.2b per annum the NMBC is one of the largest and influential Group Procurement Organisations (GPO's) in the NHS.

This post sits in the Strategic Procurement Team and is based within the NMBC at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust sites, reporting to the Head of Strategic Procurement - Non Medical. The role is directly responsible for Strategic Procurement and commercial, strategic duties within RWT & WHT.

This post will be based at the Walsall NHS Trust (WHT) in the Moat Road Clinic.




Detailed job description and main responsibilities


The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) and Walsall NHS Trust (WHT) North Midlands & Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is responsible for the Strategic and Operational Procurement for UHNM (Royal Stoke University and County Hospitals), RWT (New Cross and Cannock Hospitals), WHT (Walsall Manor Hospital) and 36 partner NHS organisation's within the Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Lancashire Health Economies.

The NMBC is responsible for the management and control of expenditure in excess of £1 billion across both the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent and Black Country health economies.
