The Role
* Preparing chemicals, solutions, and apparatus for practical Chemistry lessons across KS3–KS5
* Supporting advanced practical investigations at GCSE and A Level
* Ensuring safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in line with COSHH regulations
* Maintaining laboratory equipment and coordinating servicing or repairs
* Managing chemical stock control and maintaining accurate inventories
* Assisting teachers with risk assessments and updating safety documentation
* Supporting the preparation and administration of required practical assessments
* Ensuring laboratories remain compliant, organised, and safe at all times
* Liaising with other Science technicians to ensure smooth departmental operations
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Previous laboratory or Chemistry-based experience (school or industry)
* Strong understanding of COSHH and laboratory safety procedures
* High attention to detail and organisational accuracy
* Confidence supporting practical investigations at GCSE and A Level
* The ability to prioritise workload in a busy school environment
* A professional, reliable, and proactive approach
