Head of Care

Location: Ipswich

Salary: £51,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5hrs per week

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate head of care to lead our dedicated team at The Chantry neurological care centre. Our mission is to provide exceptional, person-centred care to the people we support, ensuring their dignity, safety and quality of life. The head of care will play a crucial role in overseeing care delivery, staff management, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment for both residents and staff.

Main duties of the job

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee the daily operations of the nursing and care team, ensuring high standards of care and service delivery.
* Lead, mentor, supervise and support care staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional development.
* Conduct regular staff meetings and individual supervision to promote effective communication and continuous quality improvement.
* Ensure individual personalised care plans are developed in collaboration with the people we support (pws), families and the multidisciplinary team to meet the unique needs of each pws.
* Ensure mechanisms are in place to monitor the quality of care delivered are in place and to address any issues promptly, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, legislation and best practice guidelines.
* Ensure the health care needs of each pws in the service are met using the highest standards of care are delivered.
* To lead, develop, direct, and supervise the nursing team and rehabilitation support team to support, guide and enable people we support with acquired brain injury in the performance of activities of daily living and the development of personal goals and potential.

* ABOUT YOU:
* A valid RGN nursing qualification.
* Experience of managing a ward(s) or large nursing team effectively to meet the needs of the post fully.
* Proven experience of managing complex and diverse care/rehabilitation services.
* Mentorship in Practice (MIP) qualification or a willingness to undertake. Or extensive experience
* Demonstrate relevant understanding of Clinical Governance and its application in practice
* Detailed understanding of safeguarding and its application in practice
* Management skills with a proven track record of Supervising, coaching and mentoring others to develop in their role.
