CNC Programming Engineer - Lisburn Salary: £35,000-£40,000 (DOE) Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-4:00pm | Friday 7:00am-1:00pm (early finish) We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programming Engineer to join our engineering and manufacturing team in Lisburn. This role focuses on programming and optimising CNC machinery for precision sheet metal fabrication, specifically using AMADA laser cutting and press brake equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient nesting, accurate bend programming, and strong data management to support high-quality, repeatable production. Key Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Develop and optimise CNC programs for AMADA laser cutting machines, ensuring precision, efficient material utilisation, and minimal waste. Create press brake programs for AMADA bending operations, including tool selection, bend sequencing, and verification against customer drawings. Produce detailed production job cards with all required setup and process information. Maintain and update cloud-based engineering systems to ensure all programs, nests, and documents are accurate and traceable. Secondary Responsibilities Organise and standardise CNC program files, ensuring a clean and structured system for production teams. Provide technical support to operators and production staff, resolving programming or setup issues. Manage and maintain the customer CAD database, ensuring only verified and up-to-date drawings are used. Technical Skills & Experience Proven experience programming AMADA CNC machinery (lasers and press brakes) using relevant CAD/CAM software. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication principles, including nesting strategies, bend allowances, and tooling selection. Proficient in engineering drawing interpretation and GD&T. Experienced in data management within cloud-based or ERP systems. Ability to implement process improvements to drive accuracy, efficiency, and material utilisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Desirable Attributes Experience with offline programming software for AMADA equipment (e.g., Dr. Abe, VPSS 3i ). Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies. Basic understanding of production planning and workflow optimisation. High commitment to precision, documentation, and quality assurance.
