HR Business Partner – 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

Arriva UK Bus is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, and we are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support this journey on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role will be instrumental in shaping and delivering the people strategy across multiple depot sites, with a strong focus on employee relations, cultural development, organisational change, and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Provide expert support on employee and industrial relations, managing a high volume of ER casework with professionalism and consistency
Ensure disciplinary and grievance processes are delivered in line with company procedures and employment legislation
Support and participate in pay and policy negotiations and central committee discussions
Build and maintain strong relationships with trade union representatives, acting as a trusted liaison
Lead the engagement agenda across sites, working with leaders to improve employee experience and performance
Deliver all core HR processes: performance management, absence management, pay and bonus reviews, talent reviews, and succession planning
Partner with operational leaders to reduce attrition, improve retention, and implement change programmes
Support recruitment standards and partner with CoEs as needed to deliver effective resourcing
Contribute to the broader HR strategic plan, leading and supporting local and national HR projects
Provide data insights and reporting on ER, absence, and workforce trends to support proactive decision-making
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role
Strong understanding of employee and industrial relations in a unionised environment
Experience supporting multiple sites or a regional HR remit
Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and build relationships with operational leaders
Experience delivering change initiatives, organisational development, and HR projects
Strong attention to detail, professional judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities
Confident in using HR data and analytics to support business improvement
Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused in approach
