We are a busy village pub/restaurant and are seeking skilled and motivated Commis / Sous Chefs to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidates must have extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety
Duties
* Assist the Head Chef in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
* Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency and consistency
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
* Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control and ordering
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely
* Support the development of new menu items and culinary initiatives
* Uphold a positive team environment by fostering collaboration and professionalism
Qualifications
* Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
* Experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings is highly desirable
* Strong understanding of food production processes and service operations
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
