Regulatory and Professional Discipline Solicitor Annual Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) Location: Guildford Job Type: Full-time / Hybrid We are seeking a Regulatory and Professional Discipline Solicitor with 1 – 3 years’ PQE to join our highly regarded Healthcare Regulatory and Professional Discipline Team. This role is based in our Guildford office, where you will be part of a team that represents medical defence organisations and private clients across the country in regulatory, disciplinary, coronial, and criminal matters. Day-to-day of the role: Advise lay and institutional clients on GMC/GDC investigations, Inquests, police investigations, prosecutions, and Health Board/Trust disciplinary matters. Manage your own caseload with supervision, ensuring case management records are maintained. Assist other lawyers in the team with their work, including supporting senior fee earners. Be flexible to assist with cases and instructions outside of normal working hours when required. Meet chargeable hours targets. Assist with the training and development of junior members of the team and training sessions provided to our institutional clients. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified solicitor with 1 – 3 years’ PQE (relevant additional experience will also be considered). Experience in some or all of the specified areas of professional regulation. Knowledge of healthcare regulation processes (ideally GMC and GDC proceedings). Advocacy experience in matters such as Pre Inquest Hearings, Inquests, Interim Orders Hearings, and police interviews (preferred but not essential). Willingness to extend existing skills and develop expertise in this area of law. Conscientious, self-motivated, hardworking, responsive, with critical thinking abilities. Excellent communication, organisation, and analytical skills. Ability to work to strict deadlines and timetables, whilst maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. Good attention to detail and IT skills. Ability to work as part of a team and also possessing initiative and a “can-do” attitude. Benefits: Competitive salary.
