The Post:
Based in Eurocentral, NHS Scotland Counter Fraud Services (CFS) has the remit to protect NHS Scotland from fraud, corruption, and other financial crime. To achieve this, CFS provides a comprehensive, integrated and professional service to all health boards by undertaking investigations and assessing fraud risk to prevent and recover financial loss. We seek to recruit two suitably experienced individuals, to either our investigation or prevention teams.
The Candidate:
In our Investigation Team you will be responsible for a significant individual investigation caseload from initial enquiries to reporting to the Procurator Fiscal as appropriate. Accordingly, you will have had considerable experience in conducting investigations into fraud and other economic crimes using a range of investigation tactics, including surveillance, but predominantly interviewing and evidence gathering. You must have a thorough working knowledge of criminal procedures in Scotland, and experience in the recording of statements and preparation of papers for court.
In our Prevention Team you will be responsible for delivering a range of services to control fraud in the NHS. These services include the: assessment of fraud and corruption risk; disruption and recovery; developing deterrence, prevention and detection controls; training and awareness; campaigns and communicating a counter-fraud culture.
You will require excellent communication and analytical skills, foster good working relationships with a range of professional disciplines within and out with the NHS, and provide professional advice to various agencies in relation to the conduct of investigations and appropriate courses of action.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay scale in line with Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.
Location and Working Pattern:
This post will be based at Eurocentral, Dovecote Road, Motherwell, ML1 4GP.
The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
Currently hybrid working.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
