Swansea Bay University Health Board currently has a Band 7 vacancy for an Occupational Therapist in the Cwmtawe Cluster.
The post provides an opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary team. You will deliver specialist assessments, goal-directed interventions, and rehabilitation to patients in various settings.
You will work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to developing a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. There is also an opportunity to shape, promote, and engage in service development and change.
Essential skills include excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities, along with sound clinical knowledge. Enthusiasm and potential for development are highly valued, and opportunities for leadership, management, and clinical skills development will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The role involves managing and developing the service while maintaining a clinical caseload. Collaborative working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team is essential. We support the education of Occupational Therapy students within our service.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and clinical skills, along with experience in service development and quality improvement.
Responsibilities include managing a defined caseload within a specialist area, using evidence-based and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions across hospital, community, patients' homes, schools, outpatient settings, and maintaining records. Efficient organization respecting clinical priorities and time management is required.
Ensuring clinical records meet standards and reporting accurately is essential.
Working in partnership with clients, carers, and stakeholders, including the multidisciplinary/multi-agency team, to identify relevant goals.
Providing leadership and supervision for junior staff as delegated by the supervisor or team leader.
The role requires flexible working to meet service needs, including a 7-day shift pattern and extended hours, covering 365 days a year.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* Postgraduate training/courses relevant to the specialist area, equivalent to master's level
* Accredited fieldwork supervisor for OT students
* Leadership/management training
* Membership of BAOT
Experience and Knowledge
* Experience managing an autonomous caseload, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
* Experience of multi-agency working
* Knowledge of OT role in this setting
* Understanding of Clinical Governance principles and application in practice
* Experience in research, audit, and implementing evidence-based practice

Salary: £46,840 to £53,602 per annum (pro-rata where applicable).
