Setting Out Engineer – Substation Project

The Role We’re recruiting a Setting Out Engineer for a major substation project. This role is ideal for an experienced all‑rounder who is confident both on site and with the associated technical and quality processes.
You’ll be carrying out extensive setting out across drainage, kerbing, troughing, ducting and tarring, before moving into MEP phases of the project. This is a hands-on position requiring someone who can maintain high standards while keeping the project progressing smoothly.
Daily Responsibilities
Setting out for drainage, kerbs, troughing, ducting and tarring
Supporting the transition into MEP works
Raising RFIs and managing responses
Completing and reviewing ITPs
Overseeing quality control across relevant work packages
Working collaboratively with site teams and supervisors
Ensuring compliance with site safety and documentation requirements
Requirements
Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer
Strong understanding of civil works and MEP interfaces
Ability to manage RFIs, ITPs and quality processes independently
CSCS card
Manual Handling certificate (quick and easy to obtain if not already held)
Strong communication and organisational skills
