£500 per day

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Web Developer to join a major digital programme for a leading public sector organisation based in Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to shape customer-facing technology, improve digital services, and help deliver a modern, user-friendly online experience for residents.
As a Web Developer, you will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining web-based applications, system integrations, and automation processes that support a large-scale customer experience programme. You will work closely with stakeholders, end users, and partners to deliver innovative, user-focused solutions in line with industry best practices and design principles.
Key responsibilities of the Web Developer
Develop, configure, and maintain web applications and bespoke integrations
Design and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Ensure code quality through reviews, documentation, and adherence to coding best practices
Monitor and troubleshoot live systems, proactively addressing issues
Provide technical expertise, advice, and support to internal teams and partners
Embed cybersecurity considerations into all development work
Contribute to continuous improvement by championing innovation and user-centred design
Required skills and experience of the Web Developer
Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent professional qualification)
3+ years' experience developing web-based applications and enterprise-level databases
Proficiency in object-oriented languages (C#, Java, VB.NET) and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Experience integrating systems via APIs and automation tools
Familiarity with low-code platforms and agile methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on user experience
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Excellent communication skills and a passion for sharing knowledge
