The Apprenticeship:

As an Apprentice Installation & Maintenance Electrician you will be following the Level 3 Installation & Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship Standard. More information on this standard can be found on the institute for apprenticeships website ( https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org ).

You will gain the Electrotechnical Apprenticeship qualification and the programme aligns with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) for Technician Member (TMIET) level and the Electrotechnical Joint Industry Board for ECS Gold Card.

You will work towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required through a range of workshop training, classroom sessions and on the job learning. Not only will you develop your technical skills you will also have the opportunity to develop the behaviours needed to set the foundation for your future career. You will be supported every step of the way by our instructors, mentors, line managers and fellow apprentices.

There is a requirement for you to gain a developed understanding of Marshall processes and procedures as well as Electrical Health & Safety Regulations & BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Requirements Regulations in order to be compliant with these standards.

Some of your responsibilities as an Apprentice Installation and Maintenance Electrician will include:

* Attending and engaging with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors/assessors.
* Managing your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship.
* Carrying out low voltage installations on deployable workspaces used for a variety of purposes. The installations will supply power to military medical, vehicular and special weaponry and other specialist systems.
* Manufacturing unique electrical harnesses for use in specialist environments using the most modern of termination and connection techniques.
* Constructing and wiring electrical control panels for use on military control and command capabilities as well as bomb disposal and military explosive vehicles and many other applications.
* Reading and interpreting approved engineering data (technical drawings, test plans, technical data, repair manuals etc.)
* Learning to perform modifications to equipment or parts to technical instructions and subsequently testing and verifying the modifications.
* Learning to perform maintenance to equipment, including refurbishment and rewiring of military medical, vehicular and special weaponry systems.

You will have:

* GCSEs in Mathematics and English at Grade A*-C/4-9 (or equivalent).
* The right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements (in order to receive apprenticeship funding).

Please note that assessment centres for this role will be held on 25th June 2025.

Apprenticeships will begin in September 2025.

You must successfully pass all required medical and security checks if you are offered a place on the apprenticeship programme.
