GSL Education are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 pupil in schools across Barnsley. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive in their learning journey.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a KS1 student, offering both academic and emotional support. You will play a key part in their progress by building confidence, encouraging independence, and ensuring they stay engaged with the curriculum. This is a rewarding role where every small achievement will feel like a big success.
1:1 Teaching Assistant (1:1 TA) for KS1 Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil in line with their learning needs.
* Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and completing tasks.
* Help manage behaviour positively and encourage active participation in lessons.
* Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and implement support strategies.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements for 1:1 Teaching Assistant
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within KS1.
* A minimum of CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification.
* A patient, caring, and supportive nature with strong communication skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
