Offer description

Responsibilities

* Providing consistent 1:1 support tailored to the child's individual needs.
* Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management using a trauma‑informed approach.
* Implementing structured routines and personalised strategies.
* Building a safe, trusting relationship with the pupil.
* Supporting engagement with learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
* Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff.


About You

* Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Understanding of trauma‑informed practice or willingness to learn.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
* Resilient and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment.
* Experience working with SEN, ASC, or children with additional emotional needs is desirable.
* Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant are beneficial.


Pay

£88.62 – £100 per day, with increased rates available for Level 2/3 qualified Teaching Assistants.

Essential Requirements

* Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship or skilled worker visas offered.
* Ability to provide two recent references (from the last two years).
* Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
* If lacking a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, you will be assisted to process a new one at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work.


Vetting

All staff undergo safeguarding and welfare checks including reference checks, TRA checks, a DBS and an interview. Five Education operates a PAYE payroll with transparent pay and holiday pay included.
