About the Role
We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator in Plumbing to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Apprenticeship Coordination & Delivery – Manages the full learner journey in plumbing and gas apprenticeships, including induction, training, assessment and progress tracking, ensuring alignment with awarding body standards.
* Learner Support & Development – Provides coaching and mentoring to apprentices, conducts workplace visits, sets SMART targets and delivers sector‑relevant training to build competence in knowledge, skills and behaviours.
* Quality Assurance & Compliance – Oversees internal verification, maintains accurate learner records, ensures evidence meets audit and funding requirements and supports inspections and standardisation activities.
* Employer Engagement & Programme Design – Collaborates with employers to arrange assessments and reviews, promotes apprenticeship opportunities and helps tailor training plans to meet business needs.
* Professional Standards & Safeguarding – Upholds safeguarding, EDI and health & safety policies, engages in CPD and supports college‑wide initiatives while maintaining professional boundaries and adapting to business needs.
About You
* Essential Qualifications & Sector Knowledge – Holds GCSEs (Grade A–C) in Maths and English, an A1 Assessor or TAQA Award, and Level 2 & 3 qualifications in the relevant trade, with up‑to‑date knowledge of training, assessing and industry standards.
* Industry Experience & Programme Delivery – Brings recent commercial experience in the occupational area with a strong background in delivering and coordinating competence‑based training programmes.
* Learner Engagement & Support – Skilled in motivating learners, managing caseloads, setting SMART targets and ensuring timely qualification completion through effective communication and support.
* Administrative & Organisational Skills – Demonstrates strong coordination and record‑keeping abilities, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and successful apprenticeship delivery.
* Professionalism & Flexibility – Customer‑focused, proactive and adaptable, with time‑management skills, willingness to travel across sites and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality and diversity.
