MHST Band 7 CBT Therapist/Team Lead/Supervisor
We are an expanding service and have established MHST teams. We are looking for CBT Therapists. Do you have a passion for Early Intervention? Are you interested in working with children and young people at an early intervention stage to support their emotional/mental health and wellbeing? Do you enjoy working within a team, sharing your knowledge of how to support children and young people with colleagues inside and outside of the NHS? Are you keen to develop your clinical skills and clinically lead with evidence-based interventions?

This role is to work as a senior member in an exciting service which has been set up during 2021 and is expanding across Northamptonshire; the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). MHSTs are working within schools, ensuring children and young people receive faster access to earlier mental health support. You will be one of the senior clinical members of the team adding to the number of teams in a growing early intervention mental health service. You will be expected to hold a clinical caseload, offer supervision to junior staff, be involved with the Whole School Approach and when necessary and appropriate deputise for the MHST Clinical & Service Lead.
There may be an opportunity to access the Low Intensity Supervisors Training Course (LIST) at Northampton University.

In this role you will support and provide a high-quality service to children and young people (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This will be done through the supervision of junior staff, providing consultations within schools and through direct delivery of evidence-based interventions to support the recovery of children and young people referred to the service. This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards.

Qualification and training
* Essential: Relevant professional qualification; accredited CBT Therapist; appropriate accreditation e.g. BABCP
* Desirable: Mentor / Practice Educator qualification; Low Intensity Supervisors Training Course; Additional therapeutic qualification
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working with children and young people with mental health problems/relevant transferable skills; Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team; Experience of clinically supervising team members with their own clinical work, delivering evidence-based interventions to children and young people in groups and/or one to one settings; Experience of working with and managing risk; Ability to safeguard and protect welfare; Ability to deliver workshops to professionals, young people and/or parents/carers; Evidence of CPD; Significant experience at Band 6 or equivalent
* Desirable: Experience of supporting young people in a community/educational setting and/or working with schools, promoting a whole school approach to mental health; Experience delivering training to other professionals regarding mental health and children; Experience of providing CBT supervision
Skills and abilities
* Essential: Ability to work autonomously in a community setting, make appropriate decisions; Ability to manage distressing and challenging situations; Good knowledge of outcome measures used in Children and Young People settings (SDQs/RCADS etc.); Ability to feedback and discuss cases within the multi-disciplinary team; Ability to communicate information on formulation, risk and intervention to staff from other disciplines; Ability to work flexibly as part of a team; Knowledge of legislation related to children and/or adolescent's mental health and social care (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Child Protection and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children); Ability to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people; valid UK driving license and car available to use for work
* Desirable: Keyboard skills and IT proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); Excellent report writing skills; Knowledge and understanding of CYP-IAPT; Knowledge of the Green Paper; Transforming Children and Young People\'s Mental Health Provision; Up-to-date with legislation and current events
