Overview
Engineering Support Technician role at TipTopJob. Derby-based position with competitive pay (£36,700 + premium hours, overtime, bonus) and generous benefits. Works include preventative maintenance and design/modification of SCADA, PLC and related subsystems, with 24/7 emergency call-out availability across sites nationwide.
Our Derby based client is a market leader in innovative and bespoke integrated systems, offering services in Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide. Due to growth, they seek Engineering Support Technician professionals to join their established team of electrical and controls engineers.
Responsibilities
* Join the System Support Department to maintain and modify SCADA, PLC and associated subsystems;
* Provide 24-hour emergency call-out availability across sites nationwide;
* Travel throughout the UK and work nights on a regular basis, with premium rates for night work;
* Undergo full training to develop skills to design, implement and test control/integrated systems and program PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function Block or Statement List methods;
* Program and configure SCADA software packages and use programming languages such as C, C++, C#, VB and VBA;
* Undertake IP network design and configuration and design/test ELV electrical panels;
* Work as part of a team to deliver high levels of customer service and support.
Qualifications
* Qualified to NVQ, C&G or HNC or above in a relevant electrical, electronic or controls-related discipline;
* Based in or able to relocate to the East Midlands region at short notice;
* Eligible to work in the UK with immediate effect; hold a full UK driving licence;
* Willing to travel throughout the UK and to obtain security clearance to work at UK airports; must have no criminal convictions due to security clearances.
Training and development
Full training will be provided to practical candidates who have some experience or interest in engineering and technology, focusing on diagnosing and solving problems while delivering high levels of customer service.
Requirements and environment
Full UK driving licence and valid passport required. Ability to work nights and travel across the UK. Candidates should be comfortable with a proactive, team-oriented environment and the ability to work across multiple sites.
