Your new role
As an Investigating Officer, you will be responsible for conducting impartial, desk-based investigations intoplaints against public bodies and elected representatives. You will also support broader systemic investigations into potential maladministration or injustice within public services. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, analysingplex information, conducting interviews, and producing high-quality written reports and rmendations.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Investigatingplaints in line with relevant legislation and internal procedures
2. Managingpeting priorities and meeting performance targets
3. Conducting interviews and gathering evidence
4. Drafting clear, evidence-based reports and briefings
5. Monitoringpliance with rmendations
6. Representing the organisation at external events and maintaining professional relationships
What you'll need to succeed
7. A degree (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ relevant experience in evidence-based analysis and reporting OR at least 4 years’ relevant experience without a degree
8. Strong analytical and decision-making skills
9. Ability to interpret legislation, codes, and procedural guidance
10. Excellent writtenmunication and report-writing skills
11. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage aplex caseload
12. Empathy and resilience when handling challenging conversations
13. Experience conducting investigative interviews

14. Knowledge of investigative practices and research techniques
