We have nine haemodialysis centers, and we are currently recruiting for the Watford Satellite Unit
Dialysis patients typically spend many years under our care, and we develop and enjoy close relationships with them and their families.
Much of the management and care of our dialysis patients is nurse-led. Staff nurses learn to manage renal anaemia, renal bone metabolism, arterio-venous access, optimization of dialysis treatment outcomes and much more.
This is a fantastic place to start or develop a rewarding career. You will gain specific dialysis skills, and a wealth of nephrology knowledge, as well as broader skills and experience in areas including diabetes, hypertension, and palliative care. You will learn how best to support people living with long-term conditions. If you are interested, we can help you arrange to rotate to other parts of the Renal Service to gain wide clinical experience.

Main duties of the job
1. Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision including as required.
2. Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based, individualised patient care.
3. Organise one’s own work load ensuring most effective use of time.
4. Assist in the orientation of new staff and students.
5. Ensure that nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures.
6. Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
7. Assist in the teaching and development of nursing assistants and students helping them to achieve their learning outcomes.
8. To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence based practice.
9. Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the head nurse or team leader.
