Band 7 Senior Practitioner (PCLS) - Swindon
To provide leadership, supervision, support, and consultation to staff within the MDT, in line with the relevant clinical pathway as outlined within the operational procedures.
Being an inspirational leader, practicing and sharing excellent clinical practice while also motivating others to deliver a high-quality service. Balancing competing demands across the range of key result areas, keeping the needs of service users and carers at the heart of service delivery. Able to challenge operational issues effectively to ensure that service users receive the most appropriate support in their journey.
Main duties of the job
To lead and inspire the team to provide Primary Care Services with rapid access to specialist mental health advice and support.
To provide clinical leadership to support effective identification of care pathways and transfer into secondary mental health services where indicated, whilst supporting a reduction in the likelihood of premature transition to secondary mental health care due to lack of expertise to manage low to moderate mental health needs.
To undertake and support the specialist assessment of physiological and/or psychological functioning for service users with complex mental health and wellbeing needs.
The promotion of improved understanding of and confidence in the delivery of mental health care and collaboration with all agencies involved in the care of service users.
To lead, ensuring the service develops and maintains excellent clinical standards and effective caseload supervision, underpinned by robust and effective individual and team supervision processes.
To oversee and ensure, across the team, effective risk management plans and strategies for service users and carers, considering risks to service users, carers, the organization, staff, and the public.
Develop and maintain communication with a wide range of agencies about complex matters or in complex situations to share, develop, or resolve difficult or complex issues for the benefit of service users, carers, and the service.
