In this role, youll work towards a recognised Level 4 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our trusted training partner. A Typical Day in the Job: Maintain and update existing client websites to ensure optimal functionality and user experience. Collaborate with team members and clients to develop and implement new features. Assist with the design and coding of new websites or site sections. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various platforms. Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Write logical, maintainable code aligned with project specifications. Identify and fix common bugs such as syntax, logical, and functional errors. Carry out various forms of testing including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Implement secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities and ensure website integrity. Work with version control systems like Git. Engage in regular communication with team members and stakeholders via email, meetings, MS Teams, or Slack. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external clients, and managers. Support the production of technical documentation and development artefacts. Full training and support will be provided by both your workplace mentor and the external training provider. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Eagerness to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment. Good communication skillsboth verbal and written. Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is advantageous. Experience with or interest in version control systems like Git. Grade 4 in GCSE English and Grade 6i n GCSE Maths (or equivalent).
