Overview
Somerville Fit‑Out is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Joiner to craft and assemble high‑quality joinery products for various client projects. As a Workshop Joiner, you will work closely with our design and production teams to ensure quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret and work from detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications to create bespoke joinery items.
* Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using a variety of tools and state‑of‑the‑art machinery.
* Assemble, fit, and finish joinery products to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Work with other joiners on the team to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects.
* Conduct quality control checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
* Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
Experience and Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years of experience as a joiner, preferably within a workshop environment.
* Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification in joinery or carpentry.
* Proven track record of producing high‑quality joinery work.
* Proficiency in using a wide range of joinery tools and machinery.
* Strong understanding of joinery techniques, materials, and finishes.
* Ability to read and interpret complex manufacturing drawings and specifications.
