A growing and forward-thinking civils infrastructure contractor delivering frameworks across water, environmental, energy, and infrastructure sectors is seeking to appoint a Procurement Lead in their Head Office in South Wales.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of procurement strategy across major infrastructure projects working closely with group procurement function feeding into the wider procurement strategy, shaping supply chain performance and delivering real commercial impact.
About the Role
As Procurement Manager, you will lead the strategic sourcing of materials, plant, and subcontract services across a diverse project portfolio with two self sufficient buyers already in situ. You will play a key role in driving value, managing risk, and strengthening supplier partnerships while supporting project delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end procurement strategy aligned with business and project objectives
* Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, quality, and reliability
* Negotiate contracts and drive commercial value across the supply chain
* Identify and deliver cost-saving and value engineering opportunities
* Collaborate with project and commercial teams to support programme delivery
* Monitor supplier performance, KPIs, and compliance
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing self sufficient procurement team
About You
* Proven experience in a Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager, or Senior Buyer role
* Strong background in construction, infrastructure, or engineering environments
* Skilled in contract negotiation, commercial management, and cost control
* Experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain optimisation
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
* Experience leading and developing teams
